Call for Papers for the X10'14 Workshop

Submissions for the X10'14 Workshop (co-located with PLDI'14 on June 12th in Edinburgh, UK) are due by March 14th.  Please see the online call for papers for detailed information.

We're pleased to announce that X10 and X10DT 2.4.1 are now available for download at http://x10-lang.org/releases/x10-release-241.

This release of X10 contains two major new features
  • a technology preview of Resilient X10 (described in an upcoming PPoPP'14 paper).  Resilient X10 enhances the X10 language and implementation with the ability to detect and tolerate Place failures.
  • Support for multi-place execution of Managed X10 on Windows using a new pure-Java implementation of the x10rt network layer.

As announced on the x10-users list, ScaleGraph 2.1 has been released.  ScaleGraph is a graph library on top of the state-of-the-art X10 programming language for large-scale graph processing. Features at a glance:

  • XPregel – a framework for Pregel computational model
  • Degree Distribution
  • Page Rank
  • Vertex Betweenness Centrality
  • Spectral Clustering

For more information, please refer to the official web site at scalegraph.org.

As announced on the x10-users list, a new kernel benchmark suite -- IMSuite: IIT Madras benchmark suite for simulating distributed algorithms has been released. IMSuite implements twelve classical distributed algorithms in two task parallel languages - X10 (x10-2.3.0) and HJ.  IMSuite is an open source benchmark suite, which can be freely downloaded at: http://www.cse.iitm.ac.in/~suyash/imsuite/

There are a number of opportunities to learn more about X10 and meet with members of the X10 team at SC 2013 next week.  Check out the X10 at Petascale poster on Tuesday night and the X10 BoF on Thursday at 12:15!  For a complete list of activities, see the upcoming events page.
